VETERANS DAY 11-11-2021

Eighteen USNA LowCountry Alumni Chapter members and family belonging to classes from 1960 to 2010 participated in this year’s Veteran’s Day observance at the Beaufort National Cemetery.

The 158-year-old cemetery has almost 27,000 burial sites, including those for the 24 Naval Academy graduates that were honored this year.
The ceremony consisted of a gathering to remember and give thanks to the veterans of all distant and recent wars – we are deeply grateful for their sacrifices. We then placed a Naval Academy flag at each of our fallen shipmate’s gravesites with a silent prayer of thanks.

Beaufort National Cemetery is one of 155 National Veterans Cemeteries and one of only 82 that remain open for all interments.
